Rocky Branch Tunnel Mural Painting – Volunteer with FRoG & t
Friends of the Raleigh Greenway (FRoG) is partnering with the City of Raleigh and local artist Sam Greene to transform the Rocky Branch Tunnel near Pullen Park with a vibrant community mural! Inspired by flowers, wildlife, and illuminated manuscripts, this mural will be laid out like a giant paint-by-number — and you’re invited to help paint it.
Volunteer Shifts
Morning: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
(Dates available upon signup)
What Volunteers Will Do
Use brushes, rollers, and ladders to paint designated sections of the mural
Work alongside artist Sam Greene to bring the design to life
Help create a lasting piece of public art for everyone to enjoy on the greenway
Impact
By volunteering, you’ll play a direct role in making the Raleigh Greenway system more colorful, welcoming, and inspiring for the whole community.

Outdoor setting along the Rocky Branch Greenway (.3-mile walk from Pullen Park)

Requirements
Ages 18+
Signed volunteer waiver (digital or paper)
Ladder users must also sign a ladder safety form on-site
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing & closed-toe shoes
Bring a filled water bottle and stay hydrated
